MINISTRY CENTER PURPOSE AND POLICIES Piney Grove Baptist Church Fortson, Georgia PURPOSES: The purpose of the Piney Grove Baptist Church Ministry Center will be consistent with the church’s purpose and vision. The Center contains three areas: the children’s department, the youth center and the gym which allow a variety of activities to effectively minister to the community and to meet the needs of the church.
VISION STATEMENT: ”Celebrating the Savior & sharing His Good News by following His teachings, serving His world & caring for one another” POLICIES: Reservations and Calendar: To insure a quality experience and to prevent conflicts all activities in the center must be cleared with the church office and calendar. The pastoral staff and the Leadership Team will resolve any conflicts that may arise. All applications for reservations must be turned into the church office 30 days prior to the date of the activity. Piney Grove organizations, ministries, classes, and members will have priority in the making of reservations. Hours of Operation: The standard hours of operation for the ministry center are consistent with the office hours of the church (Monday – Thursday from 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM). Any additional usage of the facilities, outside of normal church usage, must be cleared by the church office and calendar. Usage: The primary usage of the ministry center will be for children, youth, and recreation ministry of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Any usage outside of normal church activities must be approved by the church office. A responsible adult leader of Piney Grove Baptist Church must be present at all functions in the ministry center. Children who are below the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when present in the Ministry Center. An exception to this rule will be permitted when special arrangements are made for a youth at least 14 years of age to be responsible for a small child. The team using the facility will be responsible for returning the space to a clean and usable condition. A cleaning checklist will be provided to aid this process and will be kept in the janitorial closet. Access: Keys for the ministry center will be limited to: 3. Building and Grounds Team Members 4. Temporary keys will be signed out of the church office and should be returned within 48 hours of the scheduled use. No copies of keys should be made except by pastoral staff or the building and grounds team leader. Any additional keys (issued temporarily or permanently) must be approved by the pastoral staff and/or the Building and Ground Team Leader. The building is keyed in zones to limit access for various uses of the facility. Zoned keys will be distributed accordingly. Rules of Conduct: It is expected that those using the facilities will exhibit the best in Christian behavior. The leadership of the ministries conducting activities in the ministry center will be responsible for maintaining the standards of dress and conduct that represent a Biblical understanding of our purpose. General Conduct: 1. Uses of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages or drugs are strictly prohibited. 2. The use of profanity or inappropriate gestures is prohibited 3. Non-Christian videos/music, etc. must be approved by the church office. 4. The use of open flames is not allowed and the use of candles is only allowed during certain events and in specific locations, to be determined by the pastoral staff and leadership team. 5. Fighting, horseplay, weapons, etc. are strictly prohibited. Dress Code: 1. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times 2. Apparel with inappropriate screen printing and logos is prohibited 3. Spandex shorts and other revealing clothing is prohibited 4. Immodest apparel is discouraged Enforcement: Abuse of the dress code will result in an explanation of the guideline in the spirit of Christian love and a request to cover up or change at the first infraction. The second offense will result in the request for the individual to leave until they can return with proper attire. Liability: 1. All users will assume full responsibility for any damage, which may result from misuse 2. All users must complete a participation agreement to be on file with the church office 3. All users must agree to assume responsibility for any legal liability for injury or damage to the person or property of the user group or others, and for any uninsured injury or damage to church personnel or church property, and must agree to absolve any liability of Piney Grove Baptist Church, its officers, staff, or any other person connected with Piney Grove Baptist Church. Interpretation of Policies: 1. The pastoral staff will be responsible for interpreting and enforcing all rules. 2. Policies and procedures may be revised as needed. 3. Any situation not specifically covered in this policy manual will be dealt with as the need arises at the discretion of the Pastoral staff.

I hereby authorize PGBC and its representatives to initiate any medically necessary care on my behalf in the event of my incapability to present myself for such care and agree to be financially responsible for any incurred expenses.
